Lucuma is a sweet fruit native to Peru, sometimes referred to as "gold of the Incas." The fruit is compared to caramelized sweet potato, butterscotch, custard, and maple. If you like foodie candles, you will love this lucuma candle!
A portion of the proceeds from the lucuma candle will go to The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to plant fruit, nut, and medicinal trees in impoverished regions. The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is an award-winning international charity which aims to alleviate world hunger, combat global pollution of the environment, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water.
This candle is hand-poured in a straight-sided glass jar. The candle wax is a natural soy wax, made from soybeans grown in the United States. I only use vegan, phthalate-free fragrance and natural essential oils. Wicks are vegan, zinc free, lead free and eco-friendly. The wicks are constructed from natural flat cotton threads interwoven with paper threads.
Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, so the wax burns slower and doesn’t get as hot. They have a longer burn time than paraffin candles. Soy wax candles burn clean. They don’t produce black soot or release toxins into the air. Soy wax is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Soy wax is biodegradable and cleans up with soap and water. Soy wax candles hold onto scents better and deliver a cleaner smell than paraffin wax.
